real bride inspo :: h + g :: Love at Stafford’s Perry Hotel in Petoskey

describe your day in 3 words: Drizzle, Emotional, and Loving

your song: How Sweet It Is by James Taylor

moment that made you laugh: During our wedding rehearsal the morning of our wedding, it was raining/drizzling pretty bad and as I rounded the corner with my dad, my brother was singing (more like screaming) the song “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. More specifically the line that goes: “It’s like rain on your wedding day!” It gave me the laugh I really needed.

vow that made you tear up: My husband vowed to build his life around my dreams, and that really surprised me and brought up a lot of emotions. He is in the military and it’s hard to give focus to a lot of what I want because of the demands of his job. It was a beautiful thing that he recognizes it and wants to do his best to give me all I want in life.

advice for future brides: Go with the flow. At first, it seems like everything matters. Later on you’ll realize it doesn’t. Everyone will have an opinion on what you’re doing. Put your foot down on the things that matter most to you, but let your mother-in-law invite those 20 extra people (they probably won’t come anyway) and let your mom voice her opinion on weather or not you should wear a veil and just listen to her (you don’t have to buy it right then, tell her you’ll think about it). Most family members just want a piece of the process. They want to help but don’t know how to help without bossing or voicing their personal opinion. It’s not worth stressing over!
