designer spotlight :: daughters of simone

we have one last trunk show this season. friday, july 14 to sunday, july 16 we'll welcome daughters of simone to one oak bride. these ladies and their gowns have defined the 'boho bride' and we can't wait to have their whole collection in the northern mitten. here's 10 things you should know.

  1. daughters of simone (dos) is owned, designed, and ran by a pair of sisters (ash + brit)
  2. their mom's name is not simone
  3. the line's name was inspired by philosopher simone de beauvoir
  4. we have the "brit" gown at one oak, brit's real wedding gown. [we're waiting on the edge of our seats to find out what the ash dress looks like]
  5. dos offers several off the shoulder gowns -- inspired by their mom's own 1970s off the shoulder gown
  6. dos started with $30 in ash's tiny san fran apartment
  7. they live on opposite coasts (brit lives in brooklyn)
  8. most dresses have a 'sister' dress for a sleeves or sleeveless option
  9. the collection features creamy and dreamy ivories with vintage eyelash and crochet lace
  10. dos is the indie/boho/hippie/alternative bride's spirit animal. or spirit gown, as it were.
